A lIttle bit About me

Hayley is an accomplished acrylic painter with a decade of experience, whose artistic journey began in South Africa with a background in graphic design. This foundation has profoundly influenced her approach to colour theory and composition, now reflected in her vibrant and dynamic creations.

Her prolific portfolio and online presence have led to numerous accolades, including winning The City of Swan Award, Ellenbrook Art Awards 2024, a National Small Works Art Prize in 2023 with Petite Collection and being a finalist in esteemed exhibitions like “Bluethumb Art Prize 2021”, "Petite Pieces" and "Foot Square" at Aspire Gallery. These achievements are a testament to her dedication and evolving craft. Her art has been showcased both locally and internationally, finding appreciation among private and corporate collectors.

Based in the Swan Valley of Western Australia, Hayley’s home studio serves as her creative sanctuary. She draws inspiration from the resilience and architectural beauty of native Australian plants, celebrating these elements through vibrant colours and the intricate play of light and form. Hayley believes that art has the power to connect people with the natural world, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of the environment.

In addition to her artistic practice, Hayley has contributed to the field through teaching at Albany Summer School and engaging in licensing agreements. Her passion for art extends to sharing her skills with others through workshops, aiming to inspire and spread the joy she experiences in her creative process.

Each of Hayley’s paintings is a heartfelt expression of nature’s beauty, crafted with the hope of bringing happiness and a renewed sense of wonder to those who encounter her work.

City of Swan Award

This is awarded to an artist who lives in the City of Swan, or an artwork that depicts an aspect of living in the City of Swan.

This artist has displayed a tremendous amount of development in her style in recent years, and that is to be commended.

The judges see a confident yet sensitive approach to the medium and subject matter, and they appreciate that it is a small artwork painted to scale, rather than an overblown, scaled-up version.

The winner is an Ellenbrook artist,

Hayley Kruger for My Darling Clementine.

Winner of the Petite Collection Small Works Art Prize 2023
